Milele (pronounced mi-lay-lay) most recently served as the Director of the Division of Community Nutrition and Food Policy for the City of Indianapolis where she is a key advisor and leader, addressing public health and poverty through a food access lens. She is the administrator and project manager for the city’s $8.2M budget for food access initiatives where she develops and executes best practices with both Indiana and Marion County Public Health Department on nutrition and food policy.

Milele has established a national reputation for her efforts and serves as an advisor for the United States Conference of Mayors. Locally, she co-chairs the Indianapolis Food Access Advisory Commission, serves on the boards of the Centers of Wellness for Urban Women, Purdue Extension/Marion County, JumpIN for Healthy Kids, and Indy Hunger Network.

Perhaps most significantly, Milele recognizes the gaps in the healthcare delivery system for people who slip through the cracks. Her leadership skills and public health network are a tremendous asset to improve healthcare access and service through her role at Gennesaret!
