Free Clinic to Open in Southwest Indy

POWER OF PARTNERSHIP: GENNESARET FREE CLINICS AND GLEANERS FOOD BANK TO OPEN A NEW MEDICAL CLINC ON THE SOUTHWEST SIDE OF INDY.

Community partnerships have always been at the heart of Gennesaret Free Clinics. Just as our medical volunteers are indispensable, so too are the strong alliances we form with local organizations. For decades, Gennesaret has operated its medical clinics within partner organizations across Indianapolis, bringing vital healthcare services directly to those in need. Today, we celebrate how these partnerships are transforming lives in new and exciting ways.

LET'S REWIND: THE LAUNCH OF OUR FIRST MEDICAL CLINIC HUB

In 2023, Gennesaret took a bold step forward by opening its first permanent Medical Clinic Hub inside the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. St. Vincent de Paul serves 3,000 to 4,000 individuals in-person each week, making it an ideal partner for this expansion. The synergy was undeniable: many Gennesaret patients need access to nutritious, high-quality food, while St. Vincent de Paul patrons often require free, patient-centered healthcare. By co-locating services, we created a space where individuals could access both essential needs seamlessly.

The results were immediate and inspiring. Patients and patrons alike benefited from having these services under one roof, and the clinic quickly became a model for addressing hunger and healthcare together. We knew we were onto something extraordinary. And what do you do when you have a good idea? You do it again.

FAST FORWARD TO 2025: GENNESARET'S NEXT STOP

We’re thrilled to announce that Gennesaret Free Clinics is partnering with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana to open a second permanent Medical Clinic Hub in April 2025 within a new resource center at Gleaners Food Bank. The Tom and Julie Wood Family Resource Center at Gleaners Food Bank will be a true one-stop shop for community support, offering services ranging from food assistance and legal aid to healthcare and family services.

This new clinic builds on the strong foundation of collaboration between Gennesaret and Gleaners, which began in 2023 with our free mobile medical clinic. Since then, we’ve been bringing healthcare directly to neighbors in need by setting up in the Gleaners Food Bank parking lot during pantry distribution hours.
