Rev. Kim Olson serves as the Pastor of First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church in the Meridian Kessler neighborhood. Kim came to First Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church after serving in other settings as pastor, associate pastor, teacher, chaplain, and youth leader. Raised in San Diego, Kim earned a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College, a Master of Arts in Latin American History from the University of Texas – Austin, and a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. Upon graduating from seminary, Kim served as an Associate Pastor in Columbia, SC, and then served as the chaplain of a retirement community, and then the Campus Pastor of a home for abandoned, abused, and neglected children and youth in Clinton, SC. After moving to Indiana, Kim served 4 different churches as Interim Pastor/Associate Pastor before becoming the installed Pastor at First Meridian Heights in 2019. Kim has three children: her youngest child, Graham, is a freshman at Ball State. Middle child, Anna, graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Community Psychology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Oldest child, Maya, is a graduate of IU Bloomington and lives in Chicago where she works in corporate strategy. Kim shares her home with Medli, a high-strung 7-year-old Staffordshire Terrier mix.
