Volunteer Spotlight: Quinn Kidd, A Difference Maker

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT: QUINN KIDD–MAKING A DIFFERENCE AT GENNESARET FREE CLINICS

Gennesaret Free Clinics wouldn’t be here without the generosity of our incredible volunteers. From clerks and nurses to providers and beyond, they come together with one shared goal: keeping our doors open to serve those in need.

While we see their dedication firsthand every day, our volunteers deserve more than just internal recognition—they deserve to be celebrated by the entire community. That’s why we’re excited to shine a spotlight on the amazing individuals who give their time and talents to make a difference.

Today, we’re introducing you to Quinn Kidd, one of our newest volunteers and a registered nurse. After moving to Indianapolis, Quinn discovered Gennesaret through a simple Google search—and we’re so grateful she did!

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN VOLUNTEERING WITH US?

A: Today’s my first day out of orientation. I’m very excited, but this would be about my third or first week.

Q: SINCE YOU HAVE STARTED, WHAT HAVE YOU ENJOYED SO FAR?

A: Everyone is so nice. Everyone that volunteers, all the patients that I’ve interacted with. I like that you really feel like you are making a difference and you get to see everything the clinic is doing. It’s really powerful, especially right now with healthcare.

Q: HOW DO YOU HOPE TO MAKE AN IMPACT WHILE YOU ARE HERE?

A: I hope people coming in to get care feel comfortable with me and comfortable with everyone else. Being the nurse and working up front, you’re one of the first people they see, so just getting them comfortable and hope they come back and being glad that they came.

Q: WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE THAT IS INTERESTED IN OR THINKING ABOUT VOLUNTEERING WITH GENNESARET?

A: I’d say just go for it. It can be intimidating starting somewhere new, but everyone has been so great, and there are volunteer opportunities for everyone, even if you don’t work in healthcare.

Q: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON GENNESARET'S OVERALL MISSION?

A: I think it’s so important, especially now with how healthcare is. I think it’s really great that this place is here and available to everyone. The fact that they are available to everyone no matter what they have going on in their life, their status, income, all of that. It’s great they serve everyone. That’s really important.

Q: ARE THERE ANY FINAL THINGS YOU WOULD LIKE TO SAY ABOUT GENNESARET?

A: I’m really grateful for this opportunity. If you’re considering volunteering, definitely sign up or ask for a shadow shift and check everything out.

BE A DIFFERENCE MAKER!

Because of volunteers like Quinn, we’re able to provide access to healthcare to those who may otherwise go without. While our current volunteer base is mighty, we still have so many open opportunities in our clinic.

Our most urgent current needs are our front desk clerks (who do not require medical background), Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, and Providers (MD, DO, NP, PA).

If you’d like to many an impact by volunteering in our clinic, please visit our volunteer page and fill out the interest form.
